Community Project

One Space, Endless Possiblities

Our Aim

To create a vibrant, multi-purpose community space.

Play. Gather. Enjoy.

Aberdeen City Council has an important decision to make on the 20th September.

Whether to support a community-led project, which would protect and transform unloved playing fields into a modern, multi-purpose space that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Or back a development that would see this fantastic open public space, in the heart of the city, disappear forever.

We need your support. Make your voice heard and make a difference!

Frequently Asked Questions

Aberdeen City Council has put the fields on the open market – that means anyone can put forward a bid to acquire the site. We need to show the Council that people in Aberdeen want this to stay as a community space and not lost forever.

We’ve submitted a bid to the Council and if successful we’ll apply for planning permission to the Council. All being well, we hope the Urban Fields could be up and running next year.

We will operate an online/app-based booking system where you can book and pay for your hire.

No, the Council is selling the fields as they were unable to maintain the ground. This will be run as a not-for-profit facility, by local charity Alhikmah Foundation SCIO.

If Urban Field’s bid is accepted by the Council, and planning permission approved thereafter, the project will be partly funded by the Alhikmah Foundation and through community fundraising efforts and grants.

Or just wish to find out more, Email: info@urbanfields.co.uk or follow us on Social media.
